“Gone Google” – The reasons why I decided to join Google

Gone Google“, as described here, usually refers to organizations (schools, universities, startups, MNC’s, etc…) switching to the web-based Google Apps platform for their email, productivity and collaboration tools. A choice that I had actually made on the very first day I founded Bitsmedia and which I posted about on this article.

Blackberry Developer Conference Indonesia: mitigated impressions

As most of you know, I run a small mobile development team (Bitsmedia) which has so far been focusing on the iOS platform (iPhone and iPad apps). One of our goal for 2011 is to diversify ourselves by offering development services for other platforms as well. If Android is the obvious new platform after which we are going, the January Blackberry developer conference was the perfect opportunity for me to evaluate the real opportunities and challenges of developing apps for the Blackberry platforms (the smartphones AND the Playbook).

Nokia desperate to find apps and developers for OVI

OVIAs some of you may know, I run a one-man show company developing iPhone applications. I started Bitsmedia in Singapore less than a year ago and have since been focusing my efforts on delivering quality applications to enterprise clients.

About 6 months ago, I received the first of what was going to become a long list of phone calls from the Forum Nokia team in India. They basically seem to be approaching every company in the world doing iPhone applications and begging them (including myself) to port our applications to Symbian and distribute them on OVI.
